BHI’s enhanced Whyzen® Analytics platform enables health plans, employers, and brokers to quickly find and act on trends, cost savings, and care improvement opportunities. New guided analytics pathways and a more intuitive interface allow this next-generation reporting and analytics solution to sort through vast healthcare data to reveal the most beneficial refinements.

For example, users can select data they want to examine, such as the impact of specialty drugs on overall costs, or the drugs that are being prescribed the most and by whom. Using these guided analytics pathways, the solution provides a holistic display, allowing users to track trends on KPIs. From here, users also have the ability to quickly drill to the member level to determine who would benefit from care management programs that would reduce drug costs while improving health outcomes.

BHI added the pathways and other enhancements to this latest platform release after assessing the market and soliciting client feedback. Other improvements include an enriched portfolio of interactive reports, a revised folder structure that organizes reports in a more intuitive manner, an enhanced landing page that invites a user to explore the new analytic pathways from a centralized location, and new measures that permit users to view and analyze their data in more dynamic ways.

The new release also includes Whyzen Advisor, a mobile-enabled speech recognition functionality that allows users to speak their requests and have Whyzen Analytics guide them to relevant KPIs, reports, or dashboards.

“Whyzen Analytics is helping us see the big picture,” said a chief healthcare analytics officer at an independent health plan. “Not just how much we are spending, but how well we are spending it. The platform gives us a whole new level of sophistication in a very user-friendly manner.”

These new functionalities enrich Whyzen Analytics’ already robust set of analytic capabilities that include cost and utilization benchmarking, predictive analytics, natural language processing, and risk modeling to predict future cost and utilization reliably. Together, they facilitate superior insight, understanding, and decision making.
