The Deal Enriches Komodo’s Real-World Data for 325 Million U.S. Patients, Driving Insights to Help Close Gaps in Care, Identify High-Risk Patients, and Speed Drug Development
26 JANUARY 2020 – San Francisco: Komodo Health and Blue Health Intelligence® (BHI®) today announced a multi-year agreement to integrate BHI’s longitudinal, de-identified, real-world patient data into Komodo’s Healthcare Map™, which provides the world’s most comprehensive view of patient encounters with the U.S healthcare system. Together, the combined Komodo database captures the patient journeys of more than 325 million de-identified individuals – creating the largest, deepest, and most diverse single source of real-world patient data in the US.
BHI has the largest longitudinal and conformed data set of de-identified and HIPAA-compliant medical and pharmacy commercial claims data. By incorporating BHI data into its Healthcare Map™, Komodo Health not only expands the breadth of its nationally representative patient population, it also adds deeper and more diverse coverage to create a more precise view of individual patient experiences. These critical insights can better equip healthcare stakeholders to understand gaps in care, identify opportunities for early intervention, and pinpoint clinical trial candidates, for example.
“With this partnership, life sciences companies will have a choice in how they access Blue Health Intelligence’s data and resulting aggregated insights for the first time,” said Arif Nathoo, MD, CEO and co-founder of Komodo Health. “Integrated into Komodo’s Healthcare Map™, these insights will arm life sciences companies with the critical intelligence and real-world data needed to truly understand what’s happening in healthcare as they advance therapeutics and vaccines.”
“With our data integrated into Komodo’s Healthcare Map™ and infused across Komodo’s software products, we are confident that this partnership will help the healthcare ecosystem gain deeper insights into the healthcare journeys of millions of individuals,” said Swati Abbott, CEO of Blue Health Intelligence. “We are proud to support Komodo’s effort to serve up powerful and accurate healthcare intelligence, improving patient outcomes and reducing the burden of disease.”
Healthcare and life sciences companies rely on Komodo’s Healthcare Map™ to support a variety of R&D, Commercial, and Medical Affairs initiatives. Common use cases include in-depth profiling of discrete patient populations and providers; comprehensive analysis of diagnosis patterns and treatment milestones; monitoring of patient movement between providers; and ongoing tracking of treatment progression. Accordingly, the central value of the Healthcare Map™ stems from the depth, breadth, and diversity of its data, which is easy to access and use across multiple software applications through the Komodo Platform.
News of Komodo’s partnership with BHI follows Komodo’s recent acquisition of life sciences cloud pioneer Mavens, which further bolsters the company’s effort to extend insights from its Healthcare Map™ across enterprise workflow applications.
